Brampton driver charged with heroin possession after crash in Caledon

A Brampton man is facing impaired driving and drug charges after a three-vehicle collision in Caledon which sent two people to hospital.

On Wednesday evening around 7:00 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Mayfield Rd. and McVean Dr. in the Town of Caledon.

Officers from the Caledon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say three vehicles were involved in a crash, and two people were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the male driver of one of the vehicles “showed signs of impairment” and was arrested on scene.

It’s alleged the man was in possession of heroin at the time of the crash and was driving with open liquor.

Mandeep Samra, 40, of Brampton, has been charged with:

  • Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired
  • Operation of a Motor Vehicle – Over 80mgs
  • Possession of Scheduled 1 Substance – Heroin
  • Drive with Open Liquor
  • Careless Driving

Samra is scheduled to appear in Orangeville Provincial Court in January 2022.
