Police charge 14-year-old boy after fake gun robbery in Brampton

Police have charged a 14-year-old Brampton boy after allegedly holding up a marketplace with a fake gun yesterday (May 18).

Peel Regional Police say two suspects entered a retail marketplace near Bramalea Road and Clark Boulevard in the City of Brampton, and one of them had a handgun.

The suspects demanded money and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, and police say no employees were physically injured in the hold-up.

Investigators tracked one of the suspects to the Kings Cross Rd. area in Brampton, but police say the male suspect took off on foot.

A 14-year-old male from Brampton was arrested a short while later and charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Use Imitation Firearm
  • Disguise with Intent

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act prohibits police from releasing any details about the accused.
