Police catch Mississauga driver doing 172 km/h

A driver who was traveling at a speed of 172 kph was caught by police on a Mississauga highway last night (May 8).

Ontario Provincial Police say the driver was going at the high rate of speed along Highway 403 and was doing so to catch up to another motorist who was doing 155 km/h.

Police subsequently charged a 22-year-old Mississauga man with stunt driving. He is facing a 30 day license suspension as well has having his vehicle impounded for 14 days. His name has not been released by police.

No word if the police charged the other speeding driver.

The speed limit on Highway 403 is 100 km/h.
