Police called to adults-only water park party following assault in Brampton

The next planned adults-only party at Wet’n’Wild in Brampton has been postponed after a spat between two groups at the water park last weekend.

Wet’n’Wild Toronto hosted its first Shockwave After Hours Party of the year on Saturday –  an event where guests over the age of 21 can ride water slides while taking in a unique nightlife experience.

There are three Shockwave parties planned for the 2025 season, but the next instalment has been delayed after a hullabaloo broke out at the park’s gates during last weekend’s event.

A spokesperson for Wet’n’Wild says Peel Regional Police were called to park security “with managing the crowd after a group of people began causing a disruption at the entrance.”

Peel police confirmed to INsauga.com that officers were called to the water park around 9:30 p.m. for reports of an assault, and that there was “an altercation” between two groups.

No serious injuries were repoerted and no charges were laid, a police spokesperson said.

Wet’n’Wild says “the safety of our guests and associates is our top priority,” and that the party went on as scheduled.

“This disruption, caused by a group of guests’ behaviour, should not overshadow the success of our Shockwave events,” Wet’n’Wild said in a statement.

But the incident has led the water park to postpone its next Shockwave event planned for July 26 “to later this summer.”

The park also says it is working with Peel police ahead of its next scheduled adults-only event on Aug. 9.

Shockwave events run after the park closes to the general public from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Early Bird Ticket pricing starts at $40, while party passes are free for Wet’n’Wild’s Gold and Platinum Passholders with reservations for pass holders required.
