When Niagara Police responded to a break-and-enter at a gas station kiosk in St. Catharines yesterday morning (September 19), they ended up linking the suspect to two previous crimes.

At 6:40 am, they landed at the Ontario Street and Pleasant Avenue area gas station kiosk and while there, started to review the closed-circuit television (CCTV).

Before long, they identified the suspect and turned up at his last known residence. They spotted and arrested him at 7 am, just a kilometer away from the break and enter.

Continuing the investigation, they then linked him to two additional break-and-enters and one theft investigation.  After getting authorization, they searched his house, recovering other stolen items.

Raven Tempest, 31, of St. Catharines has been charged with three counts of break-and-enter at a place other than his own dwelling, theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with probation order.

He was being held for a bail hearing today via video link to the courthouse in St. Catharines.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the lead detective at 905-688-4111, option #3, extension #1009571.
