Police made two arrests during a recent anti-vaccine protest in Hamilton.

The protest took place at Gore Park on Friday (September 10), during which a 38 year old male from King City and a 39 year old female from Brampton were arrested.

Police say the male was arrested for failure to comply with a court-imposed release order and was held in custody pending a bail hearing, while the female was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Both face charges under the Reopening Ontario Act for “organizing an event that exceeds the number permitted under the legislation.”

They have both since been released from custody.

“Hamilton Police are reminding the public that participation in such events could result in charges being laid pursuant to the Reopening Ontario Act,” said police.
