Durham Police have made an arrest from a violent home invasion last month in Pickering where a woman was pistol-whipped and robbed.

West Division officers responded to an address on Engel Court – a neighbourhood that is located next to the Petticoat Creek Conservation Area – on the morning of February after two men allegedly broke into a home and pistol-whipped the occupant in the face.

The woman suffered facial injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

The two men then escaped in what police believe was a blue Honda Civic driven by a third man. Two suspects remain outstanding.

Emmanual Missah, 26, of Toronto, is charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. He was held for a bail hearing.

Missah was one of two men charged in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old student outside his North York apartment building January 31, 2021.

Hashim Omar Hashi was in his car trying to enter the parking garage to his building near Jane Street and Falstaff Avenue when he was fatally shot. Police said that a vehicle pulled up behind him and a lone suspect got out, ran up to Hashi’s passenger side and fired multiple gunshots.

Missah was charged with ‘accessory after the fact’ to murder and failing to comply with recognizance while Hassan Ali, also known as Toronto rapper Top5, was charged with first degree murder.

Anyone with new information for the Pickering crime is asked to contact Det. MacKinnon of the West Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2529.
