Police arrest five after targetted south Oshawa shooting

Durham Police have arrested five people – all from Oshawa – in relation to a targeted shooting in in the city two weeks ago.

One suspect was charged with 16 offences including intent to wound.

Central East Division officers were dispatched to a disturbance call near Wentworth and Glen streets in south Oshawa on Thursday, May 20 at approximately 7:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found a 24 year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was conscious and taken to a Toronto trauma centre where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the DRPS investigation into the shooting, Terrence Shuffler, 35, has been charged with 16 offences including aggravated assault, possession of a restricted firearm and discharge firearm with intent to wound.  He was held for a bail hearing.

Anne Usher, 41, has been charged with assault and mischief.  Melissa Walker, 36, has been charged with aggravated assault.  Both were released on Undertakings.

A 15-year-old woman and 16-year-old man have also been charged with aggravated assault.  The young man faces an additional charge of disguise with intent and was held for bail.  The young woman was released on an Undertaking.
