Police are investigating a shooting in Hamilton

Detectives from the Mountain Division Criminal Investigations Branch are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Hamilton last night (Dec 30).

At around 8:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Highway 6 and Leeming Road.

Police say there were no injuries.

Police obtained information from witnesses that the suspect(s) shot multiple rounds from a firearm, before fleeing the area possibly in a vehicle.

Police say they are treating this incident as targeted and the motive appears unclear.

Hamilton Police are asking area residents to check their surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity and to contact Detective Constable Ian Chan at (905)546-8970 or Detective Sergeant Marco Del Conte at (905)546-3851 if they have any information.
