Developers are looking to turn a Brampton strip mall plaza into a community of five new multi-use highrise towers.

A development application has been submitted to the city for five towers at 200 Country Court Blvd. in Brampton, across from a planned stop on the Hurontario LRT line.

The project is still in the pre-consultation phase but updates to the application have given a glimpse of what the development would look like once construction is completed, should the city sign off on the plans.

The site is currently a plaza, but the application to bring a mixed-use development to the property could see all the existing structures at the site torn down to make way for the new towers.

The proposed buildings would be 44, 38, 34, 28 and 22 storeys tall and would bring some 1,946 new residential units to the city with more than 1,200 vehicle parking spaces and over 1,000 bicycle spaces.

Two of the towers would be connected by a podium, and the application says there would be a combination of townhouse units as well as condos and retail space.

The new development in Brampton would be zoned under the Hurontario Corridor and includes plans for an on-site park, public space, and two separate outdoor amenity areas.

A private driveway would service all of the five proposed towers while connecting County Court Blvd. to Havelock Dr. and provide access to all loading and parking services for the proposed development.
