There is a food recall warning in effect for chicken sausages sold at Costco stores, including other retailers who might be carrying the product.

Connie’s Kitchen branded chicken sausages (specifically in the feta and spinach flavour) are being recalled by Health Canada, due to the potential of plastic pieces embedded inside the sausage.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency warns consumers to not buy or eat the item and retailers are asked to pull the recalls from their shelves.

The sausages are sold in size 1.1 kg with the code: 2023 OC 15 and UPC #6 27907 06161 5.

Costco has acknowledged the recall on their website and provided details of the impacted product including the item number #425417 found at their warehouses.

Connie’s Kitchen brand sells the same chicken sausages in a variety of flavours, but only the feta and spinach are affected by the recall.

The product manufacturers and the Costco Wholesalers company have not mentioned the circumstances surrounding the recall and if anyone experienced health concerns after consumption.

It’s unknown how many unit’s of the recalled products were sold in Ontario and across Canada.

Health Canada has not listed on their website if any reports had come in regarding injuries due to the consumption of plastic.
