A new plant-based butcher will open this spring at the Hamilton Farmers’ Market.

Bring Me Some Vegan just announced their latest venture — Nonno’s Plant-Based Butcher featuring iconic Italian-style sandwiches — will open in May.

Nonno’s comes from the duo behind the vegan fast food restaurant Bring Me Some Vegan, Kerry Sobers and Celina Masoudi, who brought a mouth-watering fried “chickun” sandwich to the market in December 2020.

Bring Me Some has since moved to 638 Concession St. and now Nonno’s Plant-Based Butcher plans to open in May at the fast food restaurant’s previous location in Hamilton Farmers’ Market, 35 York Blvd., lower level.

Nonno’s will be Chef Kerry Sober’s “creative outlet” to expand on his niche of meatless meats from natural ingredients including a tasty-looking corned beef.

“Y’all know we are on our chickun game but we desperately want to create more and show the world what plant-based food can be,” Bring Me Some wrote on Instagram.

Nonno is Italian for grandfather, and pays homage to Masoudi’s partial Italian heritage and the importance of family in their culinary traditions, the post continues.

The inspiration behind comes from a “deep respect for Italian cooking and a desire to create plant-based versions of classic Italian dishes.”

“Nonno’s will serve up iconic Italian style sandwiches, plant-based cheese in wheels, cold cuts sold by weight, salads, sauces, frozen take home items and so much more.”
