Plans underway to update Kerr Village rainbow crosswalk in Oakville

The Town of Oakville is planning to update the Kerr Village rainbow crosswalk.
Plans to update the rainbow crosswalk located at Kerr St. and Lakeshore Rd. are underway and the Town is asking for community feedback as a result.
The updates, which are planned for June 2023, aim to better show allyship and support for all members of the community.
“Please take this short five-minute survey and share your ideas, including ways the town can better show allyship and support for all members of our community,” reads the Town of Oakville’s website.
“Your participation will help the town better understand what we can do to support belonging and be more inclusive in our community Oakville.”
The survey asks questions such as which rainbow pride flag design residents think should be used to update the crosswalk and what other initiatives they would like to see in the Town’s public spaces to celebrate inclusion.

Additionally, the survey seeks to collect feedback on anything else that could help the Town enhance inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility.
The Town of Oakville’s first-ever rainbow crosswalks were installed back in 2021.
The online survey is anonymous and will be available until March 15, 2023.
