Plan calls for 73 new townhouses in older Mississauga neighbourhood

A neighbourhood in one of Mississauga’s oldest communities will get a dramatic makeover if a developer’s plan to build 73 stacked townhouses gets the green light.

The proposal presented by City Park Homes (Streetsville) Inc. at a meeting earlier this week of the City of Mississauga’s planning and development committee also includes four live/work units with retail space that would be part of the Queen St. S./Britannia Rd. W. proposed development in Streetsville.

The site, at the southwest corner of the major intersection, is currently occupied by three detached homes, one of which is used as a medical office, a March 25 staff report shows.

A nearby property that’s also included in the proposal is occupied by a commercial building (formerly a car repair garage).

City Park Homes’ plan calls for the three-storey townhouses to be built in two blocks on the site, which sits immediately to the east of the CP rail tracks.

The proposal will be dealt with at a future City council meeting.
