Ping pong ball size hail and thunderstorm watch in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Halton

The forecast is calling for stormy weather across much of the province today (June 16) including Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, and Halton.
Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop early this afternoon, producing strong wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h and “nickel to ping pong ball size hail.”
The storms may quickly intensify as they progress eastward, and are expected to diminish by late afternoon.
Residents are advised to take cover during stormy weather, as the large hail and strong winds can damage property and cause injury.
