Young people in Burlington can jump on the pickleball bandwagon.

The Burlington Pickleball Association is hosting an open house to introduce youngsters to the game, the fastest-growing participation sport in North America.

The open house will take place July 14 at the Haber Community Centre, 3040 Tim Dobbie Dr, Burlington, from 10 a.m. to noon.

A spokesperson for the organization said the goal is to show how easy it is to show how easy it is to play pickleball and how much fun it is.

“It’s a great way for families to have fun together and once young people give it a try they seem to really enjoy it,” the spokesperson said adding that participants will be shown the basics of the game and taught the rules.

The open house is aimed for those ages 8 to 14. Paddles will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring their own. All participants must be accompanied by an adult.
