Pickering woman struck by car suffers critical injuries

A Pickering woman is fighting for her life after she was struck by car last night.

The woman, 44, was crossing the road near Amberlea Road and Miranda Court when she was hit by a passing car shortly after 9 p.m. on March 21. The woman was trapped underneath the vehicle and witnesses worked together to get her out.

Durham police responded by 9:12 p.m. and the woman was rushed to a Toronto hospital with critical injuries. The driver was unharmed and remained at the scene.

DRPS Collision Investigation Unit shut down the area for several hours for investigation.
