A man has been arrested in connection to the stabbing death of Teil-lyn Cook, who was attacked outside an Oshawa bar earlier this month.

Cook, age 19, was at the Fox and the Goose sports bar, across Park Rd. from the GM assembly plant, on December 4 when she was stabbed out front around 2:30 a.m.

The attack left Cook critically injured. She was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre for treatment where she succumbed to her wounds on December 9.

Cook’s attacker was seen hopping into a pick-up truck and fleeing the scene. After Cook’s death, the Durham Regional Police Homicide Unit launched an “extensive investigation” into the attack.

They identified Maliek Morgan, 24 of Pickering as a suspect and charged him with second-degree murder.

Cook’s murder is the 15th of 2022 in Durham Region.

Anyone with information pertinent to the investigation can call Det. Peacocke at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5402 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
