Pickering man charged in Kirkland Lake drug trafficking investigation after police cruiser struck

A man from Pickering has been charged by the Kirkland Lake OPP in a drug trafficking investigation.

The OPP pulled a car over on March 4 as part of the trafficking investigation. The occupants of the car tried to flee from police, striking a cruiser in the process. No one was harmed in the collision.

Officers found the three occupants a short while later, arresting the trio and seizing the car. Two of the three car now face charges.

The first, Cole Johnson, 23 of Pickering has been charged with; dangerous operation, flight from police, possession of firearm or ammunition while prohibited, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, mischief, failure to comply with probation order and driving while under suspension.

The second, Lee Ogden, 31 of Hanmer, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Johnson will remain in custody until a bail hearing, while Ogden was released with conditions.
