Could you, would you, celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with some green eggs and ham?

Probably not — but what about some gorgeous and extravagant birthday cakes?

Today, March 2, is the birthday of the late famous children’s book author Dr. Seuss, who was known for his whimsical rhyming style and the wacky characters featured in his books. He would’ve been 116 years old!

Naturally, The Dr. Seuss Experience right here in Mississauga took the opportunity to celebrate! Home bakers Joanna Lo, Anna Yui, and Christina McKenzie were given two hours to decorate cakes inspired by some of the featured rooms at The Dr. Seuss Experience, based on Dr. Seuss’s most popular books such as The Lorax, Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, and The Cat in the Hat. Take a look for yourself at these stunning creations!

“On Dr. Seuss’s birthday we take time to nurture a love of reading and learning in our children, ourselves, and our communities,” says Susan Brandt, president of Dr. Seuss Enterprises.

“Having the Dr. Seuss Experience is an excellent way for people in the greater Toronto community to experience in a new way the beloved books that made learning fun for them and a reminder to everyone how important literacy is in the development of a child.”

For those who still aren’t familiar with it, The Dr. Seuss Experience is an interactive exhibit based on the wondrous world of Dr. Seuss, and has garnered record-setting attendance since its world premiere at Square One in late October 2019.

If you haven’t been yet and still want to go, you better act fast — the Experience is set to leave its Mississauga residence on Sunday, March 22.
