Hamilton police have released photos showing the clothing that Robert (Robbie) Atkinson was wearing when he went missing from his East Hamilton home on Thursday.

Robert is nonverbal due to a medical condition. The 38-year-old man lives with Down syndrome and alcohol syndrome disorder. He left his family home around 4:30 p.m. yesterday and was last seen travelling south on Rosedale Avenue and then west along Lawrence Road. His family believes Robert may have been heading to the Bruce Trail. Robert has gone missing in the past and been known to travel great distances. In past incidences, police have located Robert in the east end of Hamilton and on the Hamilton escarpment.

The photos show Robert was dressed for the late-fall weather in a green jacket with black markings on the sleeve, a blue-and-yellow tuque, dark pants and black running shoes with white soles.

Anyone who spots Robert Atkinson should call 911. They can also contact the HPS Division 2 Staff Sergeant at 905-546-2963.
