A Mississauga community centre and library in the city’s west end has reopened to the public with a fresh new look.
Erin Meadows Community Centre and Library, located at Erin Centre Boulevard and Glen Erin Drive, was given a major makeover on the outside, City of Mississauga officials said.
Sporting a new appearance that includes an updated entrance sign, fresh pavement and improved walkways, and improvements to lighting, among other upgrades, the facility reintroduced itself to residents when work was completed early last month.
Renovations began in August 2023 and the outdoor redevelopment plan also included:
- improved walkway connections
- planting enhancements
- artificial turf flexible space
- seating improvements
- sensory garden planters
Ward 9 Coun. Martin Reid said in his latest newsletter to residents that he and his predecessor on city council, Pat Saito, took a tour of the revamped community centre in early July.
He said users of the facility should be pleased with the results.

Renovations focused on the exterior of the large building, which also includes St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School.
The Erin Meadows Community Centre and Library Outdoor Redevelopment project sought to “renew the aging landscape fronting the corner of Erin Centre Boulevard and Glen Erin Drive to improve pedestrian circulation, views and flexible use space,” Reid said earlier.

Upgrades have also been completed to the basketball and pickleball courts at the facility, according to the city.
Erin Meadows Community Centre and Library was Mississauga’s first shared-use facility. It was built under a joint partnership between the city, the Mississauga Library Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board.
Such agreements reduce capital costs for all partners.
