While not as strong as last year’s all-time record, the home sales for February still recorded the second best result for the month in history in Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills.

New listings have dropped but only marginally compared to annual sales, leaving a slightly more balanced market. Inventory stock still remains exceptionally low, however, meaning there is still fierce competition among buyers, contributing to a double-digit price growth, year-over-year.

Halton Region hit a new high sales mark, with average prices reaching $1.53M, an increase of 26 per cent. Sales (886) and new listings (1,342) are still down comparted to last year, 21 and 14 per cent, respectively.

Detached homes are selling for an average price of $1.93M and with 460 of them sold they continue to be the most popular housing type currently on the market. Semi-detached, condo apartments and condo townhouses sold 43, 122 and 84 respectively, with only townhouses seeing an increase in sales over last year (two per cent).

Prices continue to rise on each of these too, with semi-detached selling for an average of $1.21M (a 35 per cent increase over last February) condo townhouses for $966K (27 per cent) and condo apartments for $811K (37 per cent).
