The average sale price for a home in Hamilton in February 2022 remained a little over the $1,000,000 mark as the area saw a significant increase in the number of real estate transactions last month.
According to the Realtors Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB), there were 1,228 sales of residential properties within the RAHB market area processed through MLS in February. That’s a 71 per cent month-over-month increase, but down by 4.4 per cent compared to February 2021.
The average price for residential properties across the RAHB market area — which includes Hamilton, Burlington, Haldimand and Niagara north — was $1,104,163, which was an increase of 4.2 per cent over the previous month, and an increase of 30.3 per cent compared to February 2021.
Here’s a look at some of the most expensive and least expensive homes that changed hands in February 2022 in Hamilton.
Least expensive
This bright condo in downtown Hamilton was listed for $274,900 and sold for $316,500. It featured one bedroom, one bathroom with a jetted tub, a sunroom, parking and a locker all located in a quiet building situated in one of the city’s most exciting neighbourhoods.
This downtown condo was listed for $349,900 and sold for $365,000. It featured one bedroom, one bathroom, an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a spacious, open-concept layout.

Most expensive

This century home in Ancaster was listed for $2,500,000 and sold for asking price. It featured four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a stunning backyard oasis, a large gourmet kitchen, a bright, high-ceilinged family room with a grand stone fireplace, a wine cellar and plenty of historic charm.
This property in Dundas was listed for $2,998,000 and sold for $2,800,000. The custom-built home featured five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a professionally landscaped backyard that includes a tennis court, a spacious kitchen, a finished basement and a stunning primary retreat.
