Houses in Mississauga are not exactly affordable, but some homes can be purchased for well under $500,000–even as the market stays hot into the fall.

According to real estate website and brokerage Zoocasa, 815 homes were sold in the month of November in Mississauga, up 27 per cent compared to last year. By property type, sales growth was relatively even across the board, with detached house prices growing 29 per cent, semi-detached growing 32 per cent, condo townhouses growing 22 per cent and condo apartments growing 24 per cent.

In comparison, the ratio for new listings heavily leaned towards the condo properties with a staggering growth of 64 per cent for condo townhouses and 101 per cent for condo apartments, which isn’t unexpected at a time when people are looking for larger homes with more outdoor space.

According to Zoocasa, the average home price in Mississauga continues to rise even as the market slows, averaging at $899,942 in November. The price of a detached house in Mississauga hit a new monthly record at $1,318,779 (up 19 per cent), and the average price of a semi-detached was $884,823 (up 15 per cent).

This is followed by condo townhouses, which had an average price of $648,675 (up 6 per cent) and condo apartments with an average price of $506,881 (down 1 per cent).
