It’s almost time for Burlington’s annual Festival of Lights — although you may have already gotten a peek if you were at Spencer Smith Park on Friday evening (Nov. 19).

Although officially running this year from Nov. 26, 2021 to Jan. 8, 2022, the colourful light displays came on last night for a fun little sneak peek.

This year, the event is celebrating its 26th anniversary.

Over the years, it has become an annual tradition for many residents to wander through the park with their family and friends to look at the themed displays. However, most of the festival’s displays can also be viewed from the comfort of your vehicle while driving along Lakeshore Road at the city’s waterfront.

Visitors do not need to have a ticket or pay an admission fee to enter the festival. Additionally, they are welcome to bring their dogs.

The lights will be displayed daily from 4:00 p.m. to midnight, with extended hours (all day and night) on Christmas eve, Christmas Day, Orthodox Christmas, and New Years Eve.
