PHOTOS: Here are the tallest buildings planned for Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills

Buildings are reaching higher into the sky as municipalities and developers rush to fill the housing needs of those who live in Halton Region.

Each area has been mandated by the Provincial government to build a certain number of housing units by the year 2031 and to do so, several projects of high density are taking shape which with their heights, will change to the skylines of each of these communities.

Recently compiled data from a Reddit user for the Greater Toronto Area shows where the tallest buildings will be in each community.

Here are the projects currently on tap in Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills that are the tallest in terms of the number of floors according to the map..

2 Masonry Court, Burlington

This is a three-tower project with the tallest reaching 34 stories. Proposed for the north side of Masonry Court between Waterdown Road and Cooke Boulevard.

When completed, the entire complex will bring 1,165 residential units to the Aldershot community.

590 Argus Road, Oakville

This project at 590 Argus Road in Oakville is a three-building project with the tallest proposed at 58 stories.

Currently before the Ontario Land Tribunal to determine its status, the sweeping design of this project includes commercial spaces on the bottom floors and proposed open spaces for community use.

130 Thompson Road, Milton

At 31 stories the middle tower at 130 Thompson Road is the tallest current project in Milton.

Already under construction, this project is one of the biggest projects undertaken in Milton and is scheduled for completion in 2026.

1 Rosetta Street, Halton Hills

Located in the north part of Georgetown, 1 Rosetta Street is in the pre-construction stage and plans include two buildings of 12 stories each.

Situated near the GO Train station, this complex is currently going through the planning process with the Town of Halton Hills.
