Two escaped horses were found safe after an overnight adventure, which included a stop at a Tim Hortons in Hamilton.
The two horses, Sunny (one-and-a-half years old) and Dusty (32 years old) apparently left their home for a “whimsical adventure” last night (Feb. 15), Hamilton Police said in a post on X today.
Officers tracked their hoof prints to a property near Middletown Road and Regional Road 8 in Flamborough, reuniting them safely with their owners this morning, police said.
The horses seem to enjoy their escapade. They were caught “frolicking in fresh snow” and even attempted the to enter a Tim Hortons drive-thru, police added.
It’s not known if Sunny and Dusty have a favourite donut or ordered a double-double to fuel the journey.
But police thanked the community for their assistance in getting the horses home safe.
“Kudos to our amazing community for helping keep them safe,” police added.
