Golfers who attempted to play Oakville’s Glen Abbey Golf Club yesterday would have needed scuba equipment.
The torrential rainfall and flooding Monday and Tuesday had several holes of the world-famous courses under water as 16-Mile Creek overflowed its banks.
Despite what looked like a long-term issues, the course’s director of operation, Allan Huibers, confirmed the intent is to open back up on Friday.
The course, which has hosted the Canadian Open a record 30 times, was nearly turned into a housing development several years ago.
Instead, it continues on as one of the most prestigious public courses in the country.
