Photo released of suspect after robbery at St. Catharines Shoppers Drug Mart

Niagara Regional Police have released a photo they believe is the man wanted for assaulting a worker and robbing at drug store in St. Catharines.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on June 25 of this year at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 181 Hartzel Rd.

Police say the man entered the store and headed to the fragrance aisle where he began to gather up a number of bottles of  men’s cologne and tried to hide them in his clothing.

A worker at the store saw what was going and tried to detain the man at which point the culprit pushed the workers to the ground and ran out of the store. The employee sustained minor injuries.

The value of goods stolen has been valued at $900.

Police say because an act of violence occurred during the commission of a crime, the wanted man will be charged with robbery.

Today, police released photographs of the man and are appealing to the public for help in identifying him.

The man is described as white, 30 to 40-years-old, 6-foot, slender build with short blonde hair.

He was wearing a black jacket or sweatshirt, grey tack pants, a red baseball hat with a Toronto FC logo, a blue surgical mask, and black shoes with white soles.
