A picture is worth a thousand words, as the saying goes, but an image Ronald Lange recently sent to his daughter delivered only two words: big winner.
The Mississauga father of two held a ticket in the March 25 Lotto Max draw that turned out to be a $100,000 winner. The Encore numbers on his ticket matched the last six of seven winning numbers in exact order, officials with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) said in a news release on Wednesday.
“I received an email from OLG and thought I’d won $1,000. It wasn’t until later, when I checked again, that I realized it was $100,000,” Lange, who works in construction, said while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim his winnings. “I was happy and excited as I called my daughter. I sent her a picture of the prize amount, and she was surprised and in awe.”
Lange told OLG officials he’s been playing the lottery with OLG for about a year and enjoys playing Lotto Max using the Quick Pick option to choose his numbers.
He added this is his first big lotto win.
“Winning is a pretty cool feeling,” he said, smiling. “This prize will allow me to do a few extra things, but for now I’ll be investing.”
The winning ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.
