A petition has been started online in hopes of bringing Indian McDonald’s menu items to the Brampton locations in order to cater to the vegetarian population.

The petition was started by Anuj Patel due to the limited options for vegetarians at the restaurant chain in comparison to McDonald’s in India.

“McDonald’s Canada has very limited options for vegetarians as compared to McDonald’s India,” reads the petition’s page, adding that there are several items Patel would like introduced to the Canadian McDonald’s menu.

These menu items include the McAloo Tikki, McSpicy paneer burger, McVeggie burger, Piri-Piri fries, veggie pizza McPuff and the McSpicy chicken burger.

Since the petition was started, it has garnered over 2,200 signatures with many people in the comments showing their support.

“It should be available all over Canada not just in Brampton. The flavours will kill it here,” reads one comment.

“We promise to bring our dance moves and appetites to the restaurant and give a new twist to the classic McDonald’s experience. Let’s make this a reality and bring the taste of India to Brampton,” reads another comment.

The petition‘s current goal is to reach a total of 2,500 signatures.
