Payback’s a … glitch in the space/time continuum, as they say, as the Peterborough Petes, still reeling from a 7-5 loss at the hands of arch-rival Oshawa last Saturday, took the Generals behind the barn Thursday night, winning in a romp, 8-3.

The Petes spotted Oshawa a Matthew Buckley goal in the first before reeling off five in a row – three by Tucker Robertson – to take a 5-1 lead midway through the second.

Dylan Roobroek and Calum Ritchie – with his 21st of the season – brought Oshawa within two but Peterborough responded with three more to win by a comfortable margin.

Robertson would enjoy a four-point night while Carter Bickle was busy in the Oshawa cage facing 40 shots.

A win would have vaulted Oshawa into a playoff spot but instead the Generals remain one point back of the Sudbury Wolves for eighth in the eastern conference. Oshawa is in Kingston tonight before returning home Sunday for a massive game at the Tribute Centre against Sudbury.
