It’s going to be a Petapalooza at Esplande Park next month when pet owners get a chance to show off their furry friends to family, friends and other fur baby lovers.

The City of Pickering is inviting pet owners and enthusiasts to mark their calendars for the Petapalooza event, which will take place in the downtown park on Saturday May 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Participants will get a chance to meet fellow pet owners/enthusiasts, industry professionals, and rescue groups with more than 60 exhibitors and entertainment courtesy of Superdogs.

There will also be a caricature artist on hand, a Pump it Up Play Gym, a Lure course and other interactive games/activities, food samples, swag bags and plenty of giveaways.

“Petapolooza offers something fun for everyone,” said Lindsey Narraway, Supervisor, Animal Services. “We have an exciting event line-up prepared and are looking forward to seeing all of our furry friends have the time of their lives.”

Animal Services will be accepting voluntary donations upon entry. All donations will go towards the development of a new Animal Shelter in Pickering. About 5,000 fans are expected to the event.

Petapolooza sponsors include Pet Valu, The Indoor Dog Pool & Fitness Centre, Pickering Animal Hospital, EIDAP, KX96, Clarehaven Estates, Who’s Walking Who, Millennium City Veterinary Hospital, TACC, Metroland Media, and PawPrints Dog Salon.
