Personal service worker charged with stealing safe from Oakville residence

A personal service worker has been arrested after helping themselves to a safe and its contents at an Oakville residence.

Halton Regional Police have arrested and charged the woman for stealing the safe from a bedroom of a residence in the area of Bronte Rd. and Rebecca St. on Tuesday (March 7).

The safe contained an undisclosed amount of cash and personal documents.

After a brief investigation, police identified the suspect as a personal services worker who was in the residence. She was arrested the following day (March 8) at a residence in Brampton.

“The safe was located in (the) suspect’s vehicle upon arrest and extensive amount of cash and documents were recovered,” Cst. Steve Elms told inhalton.com.

Shanelle Hylton, 25, of Brampton has been charged with Theft over $5000. She was released pending an appearance in court.

The charge has not been proven in a court.
