Person with weapon contained to residence in Port Colborne

Residents in Port Colborne are warned of an active armed person investigation being conducted by Niagara Regional Police.
Members of the Emergency Task Unit as well as crisis negotiators are currently on scene at a residence in the area of Church St. and Canal Bank Rd. in Port Colborne.
Police say a person with a weapon has been contained to the residence. They do not specify what type of weapon the person is armed with.
Residents, pedestrians, and motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the area.
“Please do not jeopardize the safety of our officers by posting images on social media,” police said.
