Update: The investigation east of Guelph is complete, and GO trains now have permission to move though the area. There will be an extra eastbound train departing from Acton GO.
The person struck has died, Guelph Police confirmed with news outlets.

A person was struck by a train in Ontario on Thursday morning.
The person was hit east of the Guelph Central GO Train station, GO Transit said on its website.
The area is now in the hands of emergency personnel, GO Transit said. The notice didn’t mention the condition of the person struck.
Trains cannot move through the area until a full investigation is completed. Trains on the Kitchener Line are impacted.
In an update, GO Transit said the investigation at Guelph Central GO is ongoing.
There is eastbound GO bus service for customers at Kitchener GO, Guelph Central GO, Acton GO, and Georgetown GO. Buses will depart from Kitchener GO starting at 8:36 a.m.
From Kitchener, people can board buses from the bus stop on Victoria Street and Weber Street, south of the parking lot.
From Guelph Central, buses will board from the bus loop next to the station building.
From Acton, buses will board from Eastern Street between Church Street and Mill Street, next to the parking lot.
And from Georgetown, buses will board from the bus stop on the north side of the station, on River Drive at Michaels Street.
Additional train service will run from Mount Pleasant GO. Customers can also use the Milton line as an alternative for eastbound train service.
