Emergency crews are on the scene after a person was reportedly struck by a freight train on the tracks between Cooksville and Dixie GO stations in Mississauga.
According to a Twitter post this afternoon (April 17) from Milton Train, which regularly updates the status of the Milton GO Line, “a person was struck by a freight train between Dixie GO and Cooksville GO and the area is now in the hands of emergency personnel.”
There is no word on the condition of the person or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Milton GO Line runs between Milton and Union Station in Toronto, with several stops at Mississauga stations along the way.
The latest update on the Milton Train Twitter feed says that trains will be delayed by about 15 minutes as they can only travel through the area in question slowly and using one track only.
A person was struck by a freight train between Dixie GO and Cooksville GO and the area is now in the hands of emergency personnel. While it is our intention to run our regular PM train service, we are preparing alternate travel options. Delays and cancellations are possible.

We have been given permission to run trains along the Milton Line on one track only. As a result of this, we will not be able to stop at Cooksville or Dixie GO. Cooksville; stay on train to Erindale. GO shuttle Erindale to Cooksville. No GO service possible for Dixie. Take TTC.

Trains will have to travel slower through the incident area and are estimated to be delayed 10 to 15 minutes.
