Person pulled from vehicle in two-car crash that closed major Mississauga road

One person reportedly had to be extricated from their vehicle after a two-car crash late this afternoon in Mississauga’s north end.

According to a report from the scene, the two vehicles collided on eastbound Derry Road, near Mavis Road, at about 4 p.m.

One person was trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated by first responders. Reports from the scene of the collision indicated the person was in the care of Peel paramedics, but the extent of their injuries wasn’t known.
There’s no word on any other injuries or what led to the crash. However, the road was slick from snow that moved into Mississauga in the early afternoon.
A section of eastbound Derry Road was completely blocked to traffic as emergency crews did their work and police investigated.
