Person found dead in house fire in southern Ontario

One person was found dead in a Niagara Falls house fire on Wednesday evening.

The Niagara Falls Fire Department responded to the fire at a home on Elm Street, Niagara Regional Police said.

After the fire was extinguished, at approximately 6 p.m., police were called as a male was found dead in the home, police said.

Police did not provide further information on the male.

The 2 District Criminal Investigative Branch is investigating in cooperation with the Ontario Fire Marshall.
