A person armed with a knife was arrested at an Ontario GO Train station early Wednesday morning.

Police were called for reports of a male armed with a knife at the Georgetown GO Train station lot at 55 Queen St. around 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, Halton Regional Police said on X.

People asked people to avoid the area and contact GO for updated travel information.

Just after 7 a.m., police said a male had been taken into custody. Police didn’t specify the age of the person.

There is no ongoing threat to public safety, police said.

Officers will clear the scene shortly, police said.

But rail users should contact GO Transit for updated travel information.
