Three masked and armed people entered a bank and got away with cash in the Niagara Region on Thursday.
Officers responded to a robbery call at the Meridian Credit Union on Highway 3 in Wainfleet just after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Niagara Regional Police said.
Three masked, unidentified people entered the bank while brandishing weapons, police said.
Police said one person was armed with a handgun, and another carried an edged weapon similar to a machete. Detectives are continuing to investigate whether a second firearm was used by the suspects during the robbery.
The masked people demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the bank, police said.

Police said they were seen entering a white Honda Civic, believed to be stolen, and driving northbound on Highway 3.

No bank employees or customers were physically harmed during the incident.
All three people were similar in appearance. They were described as male, thin build, wearing dark clothing, skeletal masks and gloves. Witnesses noted the suspects spoke with accents, police added.
Police warned the photos may be disturbing to some.
