Peel Region reporting 95 new COVID-19 cases, 50 in Mississauga and 38 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 95 new COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday (August 25).

Of Wednesday’s new cases, 50 are in Mississauga, while 38 are in Brampton, and just seven are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 113,407 cases. Of these, 111,921 have recovered, while 556 are still pending, 3,312 have been hospitalized, and 931 have died.

As of Wednesday, 59.3 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.5 per cent are in Mississauga, and just four per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 660 new cases on Wednesday, but only one new death. With 26,406 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 2.5 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 40,254 vaccinations. As of Wednesday, 73 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 84 per cent of adults, and 77 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
