Peel Region reporting 90 new cases of COVID-19, 45 in Mississauga and 41 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 90 new COVID-19 cases as of Friday (August 20).

Of Friday’s new cases, 45 are in Mississauga, while 41 are in Brampton, and just four are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 113,020 cases. Of these, 111,573 have recovered, while 528 are still pending, 3,266 have been hospitalized, and 920 have died.

As of Friday, 59.3 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.4 per cent are in Mississauga, and just four per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 650 new cases on Friday, as well as two new deaths. With 28,635 tests conducted, this brings the positivity rate to 2.27 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 45,748 vaccinations. As of Friday, 72 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 83 per cent of adults, and 76 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
