Peel Region reporting 85 new COVID-19 cases, 41 in Mississauga and 37 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 85 new COVID-19 cases as of Thursday (September 23).

Of Thursday’s new cases, 41 are in Mississauga, while 37 are in Brampton, and just seven are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 115,991 cases. Of these, 114,438 have recovered, while 556 are still pending, 3,406 have been hospitalized, and 998 have died.

As of Thursday, 58.8 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.8 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.1 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 677 new cases on Thursday, as well as seven new deaths. With 37,630 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 1.8 per cent—Thursday is the second consecutive day the positivity rate has been below two per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 44,754 vaccinations. As of Thursday, 75 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 87 per cent of adults, and 81 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
