Peel Region reporting 82 new COVID-19 cases, 56 in Mississauga and 24 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 82 new COVID-19 cases as of Thursday (September 16).

Of Thursday’s new cases, 56 are in Mississauga, while 24 are in Brampton, and just two are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 115,408 cases. Of these, 113,860 have recovered, while 558 are still pending, 3,379 have been hospitalized, and 991 have died.

As of Thursday, 58.9 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.7 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.1 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 864 new cases on Thursday, as well as three new deaths. With 34,365 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 2.51 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 35,463 vaccinations. As of Thursday, 75 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 86 per cent of adults, and 80 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
