Peel Region reporting 73 new COVID-19 cases, 47 in Mississauga and 19 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 73 new COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday (September 29).

Of Wednesday’s new cases, 47 are in Mississauga, while 19 are in Brampton, and just seven are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 116,348 cases. Of these, 114,947 have recovered, while 390 are still pending, 3,420 have been hospitalized, and 1,012 have died.

As of Wednesday, 58.8 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.9 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.1 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 495 new cases on Wednesday, as well as eight new deaths. With 36,404 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 1.36 per cent—the lowest it has been in a week.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 38,297 vaccinations. As of Wednesday, 76 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 88 per cent of adults, and 82 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
