Peel Region reporting 71 new COVID-19 cases, 35 in Brampton and 30 in Mississauga

The Region of Peel is reporting 71 new COVID-19 cases as of Friday (October 1).

Of Friday’s new cases, 35 are in Brampton, while 30 are in Mississauga, and six are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 116,488 cases. Of these, 115,071 have recovered, while 403 are still pending, 3,426 have been hospitalized, and 1,015 have died.

As of Friday, 58.8 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.9 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.1 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 668 new cases on Friday, as well as 11 new deaths. With 35,927 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 1.86 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 29,704 vaccinations. As of Friday, 76 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 88 per cent of adults, and 82 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
