Peel Region reporting 69 new COVID-19 cases, 40 in Mississauga and 23 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 69 new COVID-19 cases as of Friday (September 24).

Of Friday’s new cases, 40 are in Mississauga, while 23 are in Brampton, and just six are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 116,059 cases. Of these, 114,536 have recovered, while 521 are still pending, 3,409 have been hospitalized, and 1,002 have died.

As of Friday, 58.8 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.8 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.1 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 727 new cases on Friday, as well as 11 new deaths. With 36,855 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 1.97 per ent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 46,550 vaccinations. As of Friday, 75 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 87 per cent of adults, and 81 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
