Peel Region reporting 60 new COVID-19 cases, 29 in Mississauga and 28 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 60 new COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday (October 6).

Of Wednesday’s new cases, 29 are in Mississauga, while 28 are in Brampton, and just three are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 116,826 cases. Of these, 115,395 have recovered, while 246 are still pending, 3,436 have been hospitalized, and 1,019 have died.

As of Wednesday, 58.7 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 37 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.2 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 476 new cases on Wednesday, as well as 14 new deaths. With 39,460 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 1.21 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 32,296 vaccinations. As of Wednesday, 86 per cent of Peel residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 81 per cent have received both.
